The Basics of the Challenge

I’ve been following Jennifer Priest of Smart Creative Social for a while.  She casually mentioned “Profit First” in her Facebook Group and then did a live video about it where she introduced a last-minute weekend challenge about the concept.  She said it was super helpful to her, and I signed up!

If you want to do so as well, the cost is $49 for live videos, spreadsheets, and access to a private Facebook Group with Jennifer as the leader.  I signed up, and you can too!  Click here to sign up, and tell her Mallory Donohue sent you in the PayPal notes!  After you pay the entrance fee, you’ll get an invite to the FB group!

I think this challenge is best for small business owners (that’s me!)- is it you?

Who is Jennifer Priest?

Jennifer Priest runs SmartFunDIY.com where she blogs about cooking and DIY projects.  After being a successful blogger, she started consulting and writing/teaching about the business side of things at SmartCreativeSocial.com

She’s a member of the Craft Industry Alliance- which I’ve written about here- and a few members of the Self Sewn Wardrobe Group have taken business classes from her in person.  So, I’m excited that I can get some instruction from her without having to travel.

What is Profit First?

To be honest, I’m not expert in this system, but Jennifer’s live video made me decide that I’d like to learn more. I checked out the book from the library, and started reading it.  My kid is thrilled- she gets to watch terrible Barbie shows while I read.

It’s written by Mike Michalowicz, an entrepreneur who has started and sold several businesses, but admits that most of the time he was living paycheck to paycheck, and I’ve read in the first chapter about how he squandered a big payout by not staying true to his financial principles.

Check out the book from your library, order it from Amazon, or go get it from your local bookstore.  Jennifer recommends getting a hard copy, no matter what.

One more time- sign up here and tell her I sent you!

If you have questions, leave a comment.  Maybe I’ll see you in the group!
